The lead acid battery is being replaced with a 12 V 20 A hr.   lithium iron phosphate battery which will give the car a longer run time and the solar panel on the roof will provide 60 W of charging power. The 30 A charge controller is the key to making this project work.

The solar panel support is made from PVC piping – a material that anyone can cut and glue together. Drilled holes and zip ties fasten it in place.
